Naga Siren is a support hero, having excellent qualities for this role. She can also be played as a carry, but, because of the nerfs she received in the last few patches, not that many people do that these days.

Naga Siren’s item build should generally be designed to improve her mana pool, sustainability, mobility and capacity to help her teammates. Here are some of the most efficient items for this hero that will really make her the best hard support in Dota 2:

• Stout Shield: gives you good protection in the early stages of the game.

• Drum of Endurance: gives you good stats, mobility, mana regeneration and is excellent for key fighting and pushing moments.
• Medallion of Courage: gives you good mana regeneration and allows your team to kill Roshan more easily. You can also use its active on allies and foes, depending on the situation.
• Mekansm: gives you HP regeneration, armor, stats, and the ability to heal yourself and your teammates in key moments. Can and should be upgraded into Guardian Greaves.
• Pipe of Insight: this item gives you high HP regeneration, great survivability against magical damage and the ability to make your allies more survivable as well.
• Aghanim’s Scepter: greatly improves your ultimate ability, making it heal 10% of each surrounding ally’s maximum HP per second. A maximum of 75% HP can be restored to every ally for the full duration of the spell. As a result, Song of the Siren is one of the best abilities in the game when it comes to resetting fights.

What Abilities Does Naga Siren Use

Mirror Image

Creates 3 illusions of yourself. These illusions are under your control, deal 25%/30%/35%/40% of your damage and take 550%/500%/450%/400% more damage than you do.

This ability disjoints projectiles upon cast, allowing you to dodge certain targeted spells such as Sven’s Storm Hammer.

Ensnare

Roots a target for 2/3/4/5 seconds, preventing it from moving or using certain mobility spells.

The Song of the Siren lasts for 7.5 seconds (0.5s from the lingering effect) and can be stopped at any time. This ability won many games in Dota 2 The International tournaments.

Magic immune targets will not be affected by this ability.

Song of the Siren can be upgraded by purchasing an Aghanim’s Scepter. This item makes it heal all surrounding allies for 10% of their maximum HP per second.

Choose the Correct Talents on Naga Siren

• +175 health / +25 movement speed – The health is arguably more valuable than the movement speed.
• +14 strength / +15 agility – Always take the strength, unless you’re playing the hero as a carry.
• +1 Mirror Image illusion / -5s Ensnare cooldown – The second option is always better on a support Naga.
• -6 Rip Tide armor / +30% evasion – Both of these talents are very good, so it all depends on what your needs are for the particular match you are playing. In general, the evasion will be more valuable, but if you can avoid getting focused by the enemy team, you can go for the first option as well.

When playing Naga Siren, you generally start with a point in Rip Tide followed by two points in Ensnare. When to pick the hero

Naga Siren is a great pick whenever you need a long duration root that can pierce magic immunity (against heroes like Lifestealer, Juggernaut, Ember Spirit or Storm Spirit for example).
