The Playoffs Heats Up – VCT 2022 Korea Stage 1

The playoffs action continues in VALORANT Champions Tour 2022 Korea Stage 1 with two exciting matchups. After the action-packed quarterfinals, four teams that will take part in the upper-bracket semi finals have been determined. First, DRX will face against World Game Star, followed by a Sla2ers and DWG KIA clash to move to the next step.

DRX

DRX vs World Game Star

After being one of the most famous and dominant teams of 2021, Vision Strikers began the 2022 season with a new name. In January, another Korean-based organization DRX acquired Vision Strikers and changed the team’s name to DRX VS. However, the fresh look didn’t affect the dominance of the roster.

Despite losing important names such as k1Ng and Lakia, the team had a thriving start to the regular season of VCT 2022 Korea Stage 1. DRX VS managed to win its first six matches in a fashionable way, losing only a couple of rounds. The only team that was capable of stopping it was Sla2ers, where k1Ng headed to, thanks to this year’s superstar Bazzi.

Besides that, DRX VS didn’t lose another game in the group stage and moved to the playoffs. BuZz has been the driving force for his team with a 1.28 rating and 249 ACS.

World Game Star(WGS), on the other hand, is having a better year compared to the previous one. The team couldn’t achieve serious success throughout the VCT 2021, except Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs. However, this year it became more prominent and showed some presence in the group stage.

With the victory against Sla2ers, World Game Star drew all the attention and began its playoff run in the light of this. Later, the team surpassed Maru Gaming in the quarter final and became the rival of DRX VS in the semifinals.

Even though WGS features some promising players in its roster, including Sylvan, DRX VS is the real favorite for this series.

Sla2ers vs DWG KIA

This is the series that everyone is excited for. Two powerful teams of Korea against each other in the upper-bracket semifinals. And the fact that makes this series more interesting is that both teams have decent chances to be the superior one.

Sla2ers is the new face of the Korean stage. Established at the end of 2021, the team entered the scene with huge expectations, featuring players from F4Q, Vision Strikers, and Crazy Raccoon. With all the hype behind it, Sla2ers put in an incredible performance in the group stage and took the first place, having only one loss. In fact, the team’s duelist Bazzi has been leading the event with a 1.29 Rating alongside monstrous plays.

DWG KIA competed with a dynamic 6-man roster during the regular season. It switched up the players based on the opponents and the maps, which helped the team qualify for the playoffs. Even though the roster doesn’t look as strong as Sla2ers, if the players step up in the series DWG KIA has a real chance in the semifinals.

T3xture and exy will be the key players for their team and they need to retain their performances during the group stage. Otherwise, it would be a quick victory for Sla2ers.

VCT 2022 Korea Stage 1 Playoffs’ semifinals will be played on March 18.
