Farlight 84 vs PUBG – New Blood Challenges the OG Battle Royale
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was one of the first battle royale games that took the world by storm all the way back in 2017. It has been six years since its release, and one of the newer additions to the still extremely popular genre is Farlight 84. Did the genre evolve in these five years? Are there any similarities or different innovations in Farlight 84 vs PUBG or not? Keep reading to find out.
There Is A Difference In The Amount Of Content
Of course, we have to give credit where credit is due, and that is the fact that PUBG happens to have quite a lot of content in the game. After all, it has been around six years longer than Farlight 84, which means that it is full of different game modes, cosmetics, and, most importantly, memories tied to all of that content.
However, being an older game does come with some disadvantages, and that is that newer games usually find it much easier to implement content into them, whether this is by looking at the ideas from the past and improving on them or by coming up with some of their own that just wouldn’t fit the universe of the older ones, in this case, PUBG.

There Is A Divide In Graphics Preferences
One thing that made PUBG stand out from its competitor (Fortnite) back in the day was that it had more realistic graphics, which was the preferred option for those who did not like the ‘cartoony’ art style. The game also had a more serious tone, but over the past five years, PUBG added all kinds of whacky elements to the game that peeled that serious tone away, and the only realism that remains is the graphics.
When it comes to Farlight 84, the graphics are more focused on that colourful cartoony look, especially when it comes to the characters. The environment does have some rendering options when it comes to graphic settings, as you can keep the original look or make it more realistic, but the difference is minimal, and if you want realistic graphics, PUBG is still the go-to option.
Vehicle Combat Has Winners In Both Games

PUBG is one of the rare battle royale games where players can participate in vehicular combat. Of course, in PUBG, it is only when it comes to payload vehicles, while in Farlight 84, vehicles have some sort of weapon at all times, and they are rather unique and fun to use.
So far, Farlight 84 does seem to have more diversity when it comes to using the vehicles in combat than PUBG, but what makes this segment of Farlight 84 vs PUBG a bit difficult is the fact that PUBG does have a helicopter while Farlight 84 does not. Having a flying vehicle is quite a big deal, as it can completely change the game, and while it is not in Farlight 84 yet, we might see it in the future.
Movement Is A Big Deciding Factor Of The Farlight 84 vs PUBG Debate
One huge difference between these two battle royale games is definitely the movement. In PUBG, movement is quite limited, as all you can do is walk and run around. However, when it comes to Farlight 84, there is a Jet Pack mechanic that allows players to traverse terrain and outmanoeuvre their opponents in combat with very fast horizontal and vertical movement.
Jet Pack mechanics add a more intense and fast feel of combat from the very beginning, which is something that cannot be experienced in PUBG. One thing that PUBG does better than Farlight 84 is swimming, as there are more things to do in the water than in Farlight 84, where crossing rivers makes you a fish in the barrel.

Inventory Hits Different In Both Games
If you are someone who likes micromanaging their inventory, then PUBG is definitely a game for you, as Farlight 84 makes inventory something that players do not have to pay any attention to. Pretty much anything you can carry or need to carry always has space in your inventory, and you will not have to worry about overlooking it.
Diversity Of Unique Heroes And Leveling Make Farlight 84 The Winner
Of course, we left the best and biggest difference for last, and that is the part where Farlight 84 uses a hero system where all players play a different character with unique abilities, while in PUBG, everyone plays the same plain soldier character.
Heroes have four different classes: DPS, Scout, Defense, and Support, and each hero offers something unique to the squad, which adds another layer of strategy. Not only that, but those differences also allow players to find someone who fits their playstyle better than someone else, and “customizing” your gameplay is always a powerful element in any game.
Besides unique abilities, heroes also come with a levelling system. You level in the game from level 1 to level 10 by collecting loot boxes in the world or loot boxes from your slain enemies. As you level, you will gain bonus stats or improve your abilities to be even more effective. While there are probably many who prefer to keep things simple, Farlight 84 and its ability to cater to different playstyles is definitely something that cannot be overlooked. Because of that, Farlight 84 is definitely going to have a bright future, and it will probably replace some old battle royale games like PUBG at some point.
