Who Are the Best Characters in MultiVersus?

MultiVersus lives up to its name, dragging in fighters from random different worlds. The roster is drawn from just about every franchise you can think of, but there’s more to choosing a main than which one you like best. For a lot of players going with the best characters in MultiVersus has advantages.

Fighting games try to be balanced. At least the best fighting games do. However, no amount of buffs to the underplayed and nerfs to the under will make every game the same. There will always be some characters with superior kit. Moves and potential which make them stand above the others.

There isn’t an objective answer to who is the best character in MultiVersus, everybody has their favorite. It’ll partially depend on your playstyle. However, across the game, there are some characters with better kit. The characters who seem to stay at the top of the game. These are the best characters in MultiVersus.

Arya

Arya from Game of Thrones is another sword or knife-based character. She’s had some changes since the start of the game, but remains a pretty useful character. What’s really useful here is her combo game, key to getting better at fighting games. Aria has a lot to offer especially if you’re willing to dig in deeply to how the characters work.

Shaggy

Shaggy is a character who has really begun to shine, especially since more recent MultiVersus patches. He has good damage output and is generally one of the more balanced fighters in the game. There’s no major downside to Shaggy. Generalists aren’t always the best pick, but in MultiVersus the opening character is one of the top ones. Shaggy’s also available widely, not just in the MultiVersus free rotation so anyone can have a crack with him.

Harley Quinn

Another of the top characters who has been on top since the beta is Harley Quinn. She’s got great utility in the game. There’s plenty of space for combos and her aerial game is some of the best in the title. Harley is fast-paced so she can be tricky to pick up. Once you master her though, she’s one of the best characters in MultiVersus.

Finn

Finn isn’t the best in terms of raw popularity, but if you’re a platform fighter fan prior to MultiVersus you might gel with him. Finn is a swordie, the scourge of Super Smash Bros. The fighter has a ton of moves that resemble Link’s moves, they can feel familiar if you main sword fighters in the Nintendo game.

For anyone who is coming to the game from that title, Finn might be a good starting point. There are still eccentricities to how he plays compared to that game. But Finn has stuck around the higher end of a lot of MultiVersus tier lists for a reason, sword characters work well in platform fighters.

Those are some picks for the best characters in MultiVersus. These names won’t stay on top forever though. Keep an eye on MultiVersus news and patch notes to see how the title develops, and if any of the new MultiVersus characters dethrone these at the top of the title.
