Cody Schwab Wins the Big House 11
Last weekend saw the Big House 11 take place, a major for Smash Bros Melee and Ultimate. This is one of our bigger events for Melee this Autumn and one player definitely shined in the results. Cody Schwab.
Cody Schwab is a Melee player who has had a crazy year. He’s had the loss of another team, health problems, the danger of having to leave Melee behind, and eventually a rise to the very top of the game. At the Big House 11 Cody Schwab has taken yet another major win to cement one of his biggest years in the fighting game’s esports events.

Cody Schwab Beats the Big House 11
After a great run through the Big House 11’s pools round, Cody Schwab entered the singles bracket on the winner’s side before dropping his first round and moving down to the losers. Here things picked up for him though, he beat Chango, TheRealThing, Faust, Polish, then None to secure his spot in the Final bracket.
While on a good run at this point, Cody Schwab was entering the final bracket in the losers here. His round might have been one of the toughest too, against Zain. That player has been dominating the rankings of Melee for years now, but Cody Schwab just coming out on top winning 3-2. He had a smoother run against Mang0 winning 3-2 to find his place in the Grand Finals.
Cody Schwab had a strong run, but the Grand Finals from the losers’ side had some extra challenges. The player needed to force a bracket reset to win again to get through. Thankfully, that’s just what happened.
The first three sets saw the two players trade wins, before Cody Schwab came back to clinch two consecutive wins and lock in the reset. After this, things went a bit smoother as Cody won the next three sets in a row. With another major win under his belt, Cody Schwab is set up to be one of the most. Impressive Smash players of 2023.
