DreamHack Atlanta Smash Bros

The DreamHack Atlanta Smash Bros was definitely a highlight out of the roster of events. We saw more than 250 players taking part with some of the best Smash players competing for a shot at the $4,000 prize pool. How did our final bracket for singles work out, though?

In the opening of the Winner’s side in this bracket, we saw DDee and Peabnut up against each other. This was a close fight, but DDee headed out at 3-2 in the end. On the loser’s side, ApolloKage had a smoother 3-1 run through to the second round. In the Losers Final, Peabnut had a chance to get back into the final here. It was another tight match at 3-2, but he finally secured his spot in the final.

Final

In the conclusive Grand Final, we saw DDee against Peabnut once again. This time, though, things went differently. They began with a clean sweep for Peabnut, 3-0. Coming out of the Losers, though, this meant we were facing a reset and a second round.

DDee definitely pulled things back here. The second round got considerably closer. In the end, Peabnut managed to come back in a dramatic win after getting knocked out. While it was tighter at 3-2, Peanbut took the win here.

DreamHack Atlanta Smash isn’t our biggest event for December, but it’s still an important tournament. Peabnut grabbing a win here sets him up for a stronger run in 2024. The player has securely made it into the top 100 in rankings lately and might be the best Megaman player out there. Interestingly, we’re seeing more Ultimate character choices hitting the top tier of Smash, like we’ve seen play out in this final.
