East Coast Throwdown is one of the biggest events on the fighting game calendar, it features tournaments for most of the biggest fighting games. We’re still a little while away from the tournament beginning, but we’ve already started to see the first details emerge. We know that the East Coast Throwdown 2024 tournament is going to be a key offline Major for a bigger circuit, and the tournament is having a change of venue.

ECT is one of the biggest FGC esports events that’s exclusively focused on the East Coast. It’s a tournament that’s been around for more than a decade now, in that time it’s grown quite a bit. To start the hype cycle for the 2024 East Coast Throwdown, a new promotional video has been released that gives us quite a few key details.

In a new video, we’ve gotten our first details about East Coast Throwdown 2024. While we’re still a little while away from the tournament, we’ve found out that it’s moving locations.

East Coast Throwdown is getting an upgrade, switching to the bigger location of the Connecticut Convention Center. This new venue will mean even more players and fans can attend all of the tournaments at ECT 2024.

In terms of fuller details, we’re still a while off the scheduled date of October 11-13th. East Coast throwdown has been held in October in the past. We’ll probably find out the full list of everything featured closer to this date.

Games at the ECT 2024

Those are the basic details but what games are actually being played? There isn’t a full tournament line-up yet, but we know that Tekken, Street Fighter, and Guilty Gear will all be featured. Likely alongside most of the other usual suspects.

Some of these tournaments are going to be particularly exciting, like the one for Street Fighter 6. This event will be an offline qualifying event for the Capcom Cup. The winner here will move forward to compete for the biggest prize in fighting game esports.

All of these events will be taking place over the weekend in October. Over the coming weeks, we’ll likely learn more about this tournament though, like which players are joining the fight and more details on the remaining tournaments.
