Crunchyroll Joins as EVO Sponsor
Crunchyroll, the major anime streaming service, has announced they’re stepping into the world of fighting game esports. They will be joining EVO 2023, a record-breaking big event, as a new sponsor. Crunchyroll will be a new partner and EVO 2023 sponsor for this tournament.
They’re going to be a big part of the Street Fighter Duel showcase. Along with being present in other ways at the event. Crunchyroll will be running activities on the floor of the tournament and even putting on DJ performances. With how much the tournament has expanded this year, there’s a good reason they’re attracting more EVO 2023 sponsors at the moment. They might not be one of the biggest esports sponsorships but it’s fun to see more companies getting involved in fighting games.
EVO’s Registered Players Reach 1% of Las Vegas Population
Alongside a new sponsor, we’ve got even more details about the record-breaking numbers that are at EVO 2023. Street Fighter 6 is a major driver of these sign-ups, already crossing 7000+ for a record-breaking year. However, plenty of other titles are getting record numbers here too. These are the biggest sign-ups we’ve seen so far.
- Street Fighter 6 – 7,061
- Guilty Gear Strive – 2,481
- Tekken 7 – 1,580
- Ultimate Marvel V Capcom 1,346
- Dragon Ball FighterZ – 838
- King of Fighters XV – 666
All of these games have broken their old records for registered players. A lot of games are likely benefiting from bigger titles like Street Fighter 6 bringing in more players, who join up to play multiple games.
With the registered attendants, it looks like 2023 will be the biggest in EVO history. So it’s no surprise we’re seeing more and more sponsors getting involved in the tournament.
