FighterZ Rollback Update Finally Arrives

The Dragon Ball FighterZ Rollback netcode update is finally here! After years of build-up, we’re getting modern net code, kind of. We’re currently in a public beta test with the changes. Players on some platforms are able to jump in and test out the feature, how has it compared so far and how can you start trying the FighterZ Rollback Netcode?

The DragonBall FighterZ Rollback netcode update is now available as a public test. This will be a limited-time run of the netcode to test it out and see if it’s up to scratch for active play across platforms. At the moment, it’s only being tested out on Steam. This is one of the top Steam fighting games, but FighterZ is available on quite a few platforms. The beta test is only available on one platform though.

FighterZ Rollback Changes

This initial test will allow Arc to test out the change to netcode. Hopefully, they can then iron out any potential flaws and get FighterZ running as well online as their more recent games. Since the FighterZ updates have slowed now, this final netcode change will likely finish the title off. So far, how does the netcode look?

Most players have noticed a substantial improvement in the game with the change. A few have some issues like rollback frames having a slight delay. However, the bulk of the changes have been welcomed. Hopefully, once the beta is done Arc can implement the fixes and get FighterZ rollback netcode running perfectly.

DBFZ Rollback Netcode Update Leaked on Steam in October

After a long stretch of silence, in October we finally got some solid progress with the DBFZ Rollback update. The promised upgrade to online gameplay for Dragon Ball FighterZ was originally announced back at EVO 2022. Since then, we’ve seen developments like an interview talking about all the delays. However, with the release of tons of newer Arc System Works games FighterZ was beginning to look a bit forgotten. Recently, we might have gotten a look at the Rollback update actually coming soon!

A twitter user Ashren_dios has been exploring the Steam databade and found something interesting for fighting game fans.

A user exploring the Steam database has found what they believe is the DBFZ Rollback update sitting there, waiting to go live. This would imply that the update is getting towards its conclusion. With newer Dragon Ball Fighting games on the horizon and no news of a Potential FighterZ 2, this final rollback change could be our grand final for the game competitively. Although, not everyone is convinced.

Quite a few players have expressed some scepticism. With all the delays we’ve seen, a lot of players still aren’t hopeful about its arrival. Given how long it has been and other games getting the same treatment much quicker, they have good reason not to get their hopes up. Hopefully, this means the DBFZ Rollabck netcode update is coming sooner rather than later though.

Rollback Update

FighterZ is one of the longer-running Arc games that’s still getting a lot of events and attention right now. However, one update that has been scheduled for a while has been hotly anticipated. The FighterZ rollback update has long been promised, but when is it actually showing up? Arc has given a full rundown of when we can expect the next update with balance changes and what’s going on with the long-awaited update to netcode.

Bandai Namco has given a full statement over the last few days. It’s detailing when we can expect a new balance patch to come to the game to change each of the FighterZ characters. But also how things are looking for that netcode change. This is what we’ve learned about the FighterZ rollback update recently.

FighterZ Rollback Update and Balance Changes Gets ETA

The official Bandai Namco Twitter account has this week started to talk about the next batch of updates coming to the game. Arc System Works’ future updates will start arriving this month, but the most anticipated update to the game is actually going to take a bit longer.

The first part of the update detailed what we’re expecting from the next balance change. There will be another batch of FighterZ patch notes arriving at the end of August. This will be an add-on to one of the other more recent batches as we’re getting very close to hitting the end of FighterZ as a whole.

The bigger part of the update for a lot of players is the rollback netcode update. This has been delayed. The update says that the rollback change is still being worked on, but it’s going to take a while longer. The beta test for the update is being delayed too.

It’s disappointing to see the FighterZ rollback update still lingering somewhere far in the distance. However, we’ve got some exciting news for the game. The DBFZ World Tour 2023/24 now has an official start date! FighterZ at EVO 2023 is going to be a Power+ event, starting the tour off with a huge tournament.
