Guilty Gear is one of the most beloved fighting game series out there. It has been running through various games since 1998, with Guilty Gear Strive hitting a major high for the series. It’s become one of the biggest games for competitive play, but it’s also had an expansive world that players have fallen in love with. This has been the entry point for a lot of players delving into the series’ world. That’s about to get more expansive with the announcement of a Guilty Gear Strive anime adaptation.
It won’t just be one of the best fighting games, Guilty Gear Strive will also be a bigger multimedia project next. The new Guilty Gear Anime, Dual Rulers, has been announced as in production. What do we know about the new series so far?
Arc System Works are well known for their roster of beloved fighting games. But they’re moving further, with a new partnership with Sanzigen Studios. This will be a Guilty Gear anime series called Dual Rulers.
The new series has been announced for Anime Expo 2024, a convention where the first trailer will be released for the new anime. There will also be a panel with those involved with the series which will likely deliver more key information about this brand-new project further exploring the Guilty Gear Strive characters and its world.

The series is coming from the same production studio who have been behind the Find Your One Way music video already produced for the games. So, fans will likely be familiar with this style of production.
Guilty Gear Dual Rulers has only just been announced, but we know some key details already. For a start, there are a few staff members already announced for the project.
Shigeru Morikawa will be directing the series. He’s behind series like Project A-ko and entries in the long-running Gundam series.
Norimitsu Kaihō will be writing the series, and Sji Mizushima will be on board as an associate producer. He has a background working on anime like Fullmetal Alchemist, so there’s a strong pedigree already lined up to work on the project.
Since we’re still waiting for the panel to announce more key details, this includes the release date. The panel will be taking place on July 4th. This is when we’ll get our first trailer, and probably the retails about when the anime will be broadcast.
