The Mortal Kombat Legends movie series began with the first Scorpion’s Revenge. It adapts some of the plot from Mortal Kombat games, focusing specifically on Scorpion and his quest for revenge. This marked a bit of a departure for these adaptations, making something more authentic to the game’s approach. It even features series creator Ed Boon as a creative consultant.
Since that first film, the series has proceeded pretty regularly. We got a first sequel just a year after that film, with Battle of the Realms. That was followed up with two more October releases each year. The Mortal Kombat Legends seems to be in full swing. We can likely expect another instalment to arrive in 2024 if the past few years are anything to go by.
