Intel Plays 2023 Street Fighter 6 Invitational

The Intel Plays 2023 Street Fighter 6 Invitational is a new tournament taking place over the weekend. It’s a chance to see some major players fighting it out in the new game. The prize pool here is decent, with $5,000 on offer. There are only 8 players taking part though. Four players are coming from the results of Intel PAX East 2023, and another 4 are being invited thanks to their performance in other tournaments.

The format of the Intel Plays 2023 Street Fighter 6 Invitational is pretty simple. We’re starting with a group stage. Here, there are 2 groups of 4 players. They compete in a double-elimination bracket in each group. No one is eliminated in this round, but it does establish the seeding for the actual bracket. These early face-offs will give us a fair bit of intel on how the players are lining up against each other.

Once we reach the final round of the Intel Plays 2023 Street Fighter 6 Invitational, it is a playoff bracket. This is a double elimination bracket, with the top-ranking players from the group starting in the upper and the others staying in the lower. They compete in one v one matches until we find a final winner.

Players Competing

As an invitational, the big appeal here is how impressive the talent attending is. These are the players that have been invited to the tournament.

  • Nephew
  • Punk
  • iDom
  • Nuckledu
  • MenaRD
  • Shine
  • 801 Strider
  • Toi

Those are all the names you’ll see popping up. Similar to the recent Twitch Rivals event, there’s some top talent showing up here. We’re yet to get to the really well-established tournaments that’ll set the stage for the future of Street Fighter 6 like EVO 2023. However, this tournament is going to give us an early glimpse at how all those match ups are looking at this point for the game.
