Team Vitality Re-Enter Fighting Games Signing Jeondding

Another major announcement has just been made by a big org that’s not been active in fighting games for a while. Team Vitality has decided to make another move back into the FCG, signing up the player Jeondding. This new signing means they’ll have a much bigger presence in Tekken 8 during the game’s first year as a competitive esport.

During 2023 and now 2024, we’ve seen quite a few org make bigger signings in fighting game esports. Often teams that had previously dropped out entirely. There are big reasons to get back involved though. Between new releases attracting more attention and the larger prize pools now being offered at major tournaments, these games are increasingly a focus for orgs.

We’ve seen this shown in different teams choosing to enter or expand their fighting game offerings. Most recently, with Jeondding signing with Team Vitality. The team is re-entering competitive fighters starting with the newest Tekken release.

Team Vitality Sign Jeondding

Jeondding is one of the most notable currently active players in the world of Tekken. He’s impressed in Tekken 7, making the Tekken World Tour Finals and winning plenty of events along the way. As we enter Tekken 8’s time as the main competitive title, he’s positioned to be a major player in the first year of events.

This new signing makes sure Team Vitality will be represented at the highest level of the game. Jeonding has been active for quite a while, previously being a part of UYU and DH.CNJ esports.

This new signing marks Team Vitality re-entering the world of competitive fighting games. It isn’t the first time they’ve signed some of these players though. Back in 2020, they were still fielding a bit of a squad. Only just though, with Hurricane (their last FGC player) leaving the team on January 3rd. Before this, they had a more active squad competing in some games. Jeondding is their first new signing. It’s possible he won’t be their only addition though. This could be the start of a bigger new team.
