MK 1 Omni-Man Release Date Unveiled

Mortal Kombat 1 has been out for a few weeks now, and players have started to really get to know our cast of characters. This current roster isn’t the end though, we’re expecting quite a few more MK 1 DLC characters to get added over the coming years. The first of these is going to be the MK 1 Omni-Man DLC.

While we’ve had confirmation of all of the characters we’re getting, details were a bit sparse for a while. We’ve eventually got quite a lot more information about what’s coming to the game though. We now know the MK 1 Omni-Man release date, plus trailers for the character which has shown off what we can expect from the new addition and how they’ll work in-game.

Omni-Man Release Date

NetherRealm kept the release date for these DLC characters quite close to their chest for a while, but we’ve finally got the full release date for Omni-Man in MK 1! When can get the new fighter? It’s going to be released on November 9th. Everyone can hop in and play the new fighter from then provided they’ve purchased the DLC.

MK 1 Omni-Man Reveal

MK 1’s first DLC character is going to be Omni-Man. The Superman-like character from Amazon’s Invincible is voiced by JK Simmons (although it’s not clear if he’s joining the Mortal Kombat 1 voice cast). The character is going to be added to Mortal Kombat 1 for the first DLC update. We’ve known for a while that the first batch of DLC will feature a few similarly themed characters. Morally ambiguous (or plain villainous) characters with a god-like powerset parodying Superman has been a clear thread. How exactly can you translate this to a fighting game and keep things balanced though?

From what we’ve seen, the new character will have a balance between these lore-accurate high-power moves, and the room for mistakes that keep things fair. Omni-Man’s initial trailer reveal has showcased a little bit of how the character is going to work. The trailer has a few interesting moves including a powerful-looking throw. It’s also shown off some upcoming MK 1 fatalities, and even character interactions. Between the combos shown and even interactions with Kameo fighters, it looks like an exciting addition to the cast.

The trailer seems to confirm that we can expect Omni Man to launch next. We can even expect him to come early for those who went in for the full Kombat pack.
