How to Play Mortal Kombat 60 FPS
Mortal Kombat 1 is one of last year’s biggest fighters, but for some players performance might have been lacking. A stable Mortal Kombat 60 FPS mode hasn’t been quite there for every player, at least not in the entire game. So far, we’ve had quite a few areas seemingly tied to 30 FPS. That’s until now.
This week NetherRealm has brought another Mortal Kombat update out. It isn’t one focused on adding another character or the typical fare for these changes. It’s brought in a 60FPS mode to boost performance in areas where the game previously struggled. How does it all work?

Mortal Kombat 60 FPS Upgrade – What is it?
At launch, Mortal Kombat had some decent performance in most areas of the game. However, in other areas, the game was tied at 30 FPS. This was essentially down to the game choosing to run at this rate, to prevent performance dipping. Most players do like to get 60 FPS in a game. In a fighter that’s completive like this, it can really make all the difference. Although, it won’t apply throughout the game.
The new Mortal Kombat 60 FPS upgrade is able to be turned on in the Menu. It’s an experimental upgrade to the game which should boost areas that are lagging, like cutscenes and Mortal Kombat fatalities. It won’t be used in matches just yet though.
Hopefully, this 60 FPS upgrade is the start of a rollout across the game. Mortal Kombat 1 has a lot of positives but things like the 30 FPS segments have held it back compared to the competition. Between this and other quality of life changes MK 1 is really starting to come together.
The new feature might not work out, but at least with this update some more areas of the game are getting a boost. The Switch version of the game might still be lagging behind, but other platforms are getting their performance straightened out as the game gets more content and updates.
