Last weekend we saw a huge fighting game esports event take place, CEOtaku 2023, but we’re already heating up for our next major tournament. REV Major 2023 is a new instalment of the fighting game series, taking place this weekend over September 30- October 1. The new tournament is one of the bigger taking place in Asia over the autumn, featuring a more limited number of tournaments to focus on the biggest titles right now.

There’s only a handful of games taking place at REV Major 2023, it’s more of a quality-over-quantity tournament. Pretty much every newest instalment for the biggest fighting game series is getting represented here though. Here are all of the tournaments you can expect at the event.
One of the biggest fighting games in 2023 is Street Fighter 6 and it’s being represented with a smaller tournament at REV Major 2023. The event has a $1,424 prize pool and there are some impressive players coming such as SEO and Book.
One of the latest fighting games to release in 2023 is Mortal Kombat 1. This game will be represented at REV Major 2023. There’s a smaller tournament here with a $105.55 prize pool.
We might still have a little way to go before the Tekken 8 release date, but there are still some exciting tournaments for Tekken 7 here. This is a TWT event with a $10,451 prize pool on offer. There are a number of major players taking part like Arslan Ash, ULSAN, CBM, chikurin, and Rangchu.
One of the anime fighting games featuring at REV Major 2023 is Guilty Gear Strive. This event is a part of the Arc World Tour 2023 so it’s one of the bigger tournaments here. There is a $1,081 prize and major players like Jiro taking part.
King of Fighters XV is also on the docket for REV Major, It’s one the smaller side, with a $228 prize pool. However, the winner will still secure a spot at the SWC for 2023.
The final tournament at REV Major 2023 is going to be FighterZ. The tournament has points for the ongoing FighterZ World Tour at stake, along with a $1,393 prize pool.

It’s part of the wider circuit for quite a few of the best fighting games, making it a key qualification date. As a tournament in Southeast Asia, it’s one of the biggest fighting game events. REV Major 2023 is offering tournaments for quite a few of the biggest titles out there. The event features tournaments for Tekken, Street Fighter 6, Guilty Gear Strive, King of Fighters XV, FighterZ, and an early tournament for Mortal Kombat 1. Beyond just offering these events though, the tournament is part of some circuits too.
The Tekken event is a key part of the Tekken World Tour for 2023. The final round for the current iteration of the game with Tekken 8 release date coming up soon. The GGS tournament will also be a part of the Arc World Tour, King of Fighters is part of SNK World Championship, and FIghterZ is a part of its World Tour too. With so many tournaments having these large stakes, we can expect plenty of registrations, and REV Major 2023 has just extended how long players have to get involved.
The tournament is getting its registration period extended. Players can now sign up to attend through till the 22nd of September. This gives quite a bit more time for players to jump into the event. The tournament is taking place on the last weekend of September. Hopefully, even more of the top players in this region will sign up before the tournament kicks off.
