When Does the SF 6 Downtime End?

Street Fighter 6 is about to get its latest update, but the game is going down for a short while first. After a brief session of SF 6 downtime, we’ll be getting a fresh update for the game. Unlike past extended downtime, we don’t know about any specific new character coming to the game this time. So why is the game going offline? Plus, how long will the game be inaccessible? This time the downtime is going to be extended running up to three hours.

The SF 6 downtime will be hitting the game just ahead of the next update coming. Once it’s done, we’ll be able to look through the SF 6 patch notes and see everything that’s changed. When is the game coming offline though and when does it start back up? This is when the game will be unavailable and what you need to know about when it’ll end.

When is the SF 6 Downtime?

The SF 6 downtime is scheduled to start ahead of its newest patch, the exact time is different depending on your region. These are the downtime regions from what we’ve got from Capcom so far.

  • UTC – Wednesday 1 November, 4:00 AM to 7:00 AM
  • CET – Wednesday 1 November 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • JST – Wednesday 1 November, 11:PM to 4:00 PM
  • PDT – Tuesday 26 September, 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM

That’s when the sessions are currently scheduled. As long as the update goes smoothly, that should be the only time the game is down. Outside of these periods, if the title is down that will be down to an unrelated problem, not the official downtime.

What is Unavailable During SF 6 Downtime?

That’s when the game is going offline, but what will be unavailable? The title will still be playable. However, a few features will be turned off. Players won’t be able to the online features of the game. That’s online matchmaking but also the Fighting Pass. Since we’re near the end of the current SF 6 Spooky Pass, we’re probably going to see a new one added pretty soon as get into November.

When is the Game Back Up?

The current SF 6 downtime that’s scheduled is going to be about 3 hours long. Once the session is up, the game should be back online with some fresh content. However, we don’t expect it to be one of the bigger balance updates for SF 6, just a content refresh. Capcom is avoiding doing gameplay changes in the midst of bigger tournaments. We’re close to another offline qualifier, so major balancing changes aren’t expected this time.

The short downtime will limit some online services. Once everything is completed though, we can expect the game to be back online by the time listed above.
