New Tekken 8 Closed Beta Begins Today

One of the biggest upcoming fighting games of the year is Tekken 8. It’s the latest instalment in one of the most popular franchises in fighting. There’s a lot to think about as we head towards the release, with Tekken 8 leaks hinting at new content. However, our best chance to get a look in at the fresh stuff coming to the game is the Tekken 8 closed beta.

It’s a chance for players to try the game out. We’ve already had one closed beta test. However, a second one has just started back up. Those who registered for the recent Tekken 8 closed beta will be able to jump in and try things out again. How long is it running this time though?

Tekken 8 Closed Beta Returns

The new Closed beta Test will this time be a test for the entire game. Last time, we saw a network test take place to test the online functionality. This is more of a full beta! Players can start getting used to characters and mechanics over the three-day Beta period. It’s available this weekend, running through to Monday, October 23.

You’ll only have until this time is up to finish off the Tekken 8 closed beta! However, this will be fuel on the fire for the cracked beta players. Despite best efforts, players have already accessed a cracked Tekken beta. If you’d rather stick to the official ways to try things out though, the new Tekken 8 closed beta is a much better opportunity.

First Closed Beta

A Tekken 8 closed beta is going to start off next month! It’s going to open up in July. Players will need to sign up quickly if they want one of the limited slots. It’s a bit of a wider closed beta than other games get though. There are going to be 16 playable characters in the game, all of the Tekken characters that have been announced for the title already.

Closed betas like this can be difficult to get into. If you want a shot you’ll have to sign up through the official website. However, it’s a first come, first served beta. Only the early arrivals are going to get access here.

The closed beta will give you the chance to try out the game’s battle system, character moves, and for devs to test the network quality. It’ll be live in two separate periods at first. It starts on the 21st of  July and runs through to the 24th. Then we’ve got a second round that starts on the 28th till the end of the month. The Tekken 8 cross beta will also feature cross-platform play. Everyone on PC and console can play together! Nice to see after Tekken 7 crossplay never came.

The big test with the Tekken 8 beta at first is just going to be getting in! You’ll need some decent speed to get in, along with a fair bit of luck!
