Unika Guilty Gear Strive is the newest announced character! The long-running fighting game is about to expand its roster once again. There’s something a bit different about this DLC addition though. Unika isn’t coming in from past Guilty Gear games or as an original fighter. They’re a crossover character coming from the anime.
Recently, Guilty gear Strive got an anime adaptation. It’s a full anime based on the game and its rich lore. It features plenty of the existing characters, but has made some of its own. Unika will be a new addition to the game from the world of the anime. Similar to how LoL represented bits of Arcane. When will the latest fighter arrive in the game and who are they?

The upcoming Unika Guilty Gear Strive patch will introduce the new fighter. They’re a character who first debuted in GGS Dual Rulers, the anime adaptation. Unika is a half-gear. She’s also related to Ky and Dizzy, from an alternative future. The lore of GG gets kind of convoluted, but she’s a fun addition to the actual fighting game roster.
Since they’re an original Guilty Gear anime character, we can’t say too much about how they’ll play. But there’s plenty of scope for an interesting moveset. We’ll have to see what kind of moves Arc comes up with. As we’re quite far into the life of Guilty Gear, making new characters unique is harder than ever.
Unika will be the next character in the Season 4 Pass for GGS. When will that update come to the game?

Unika was first revealed in one form with the first teaser for the anime. But as a playable Guilty Gear Strive character they were only recently unveiled! They’ll be added to the game pretty quickly too. We’re expecting the Unika Guilty Gear Strive update to come on May 27th.
