Ranked Release Date in Season 2

With the recent showcase of what’s up next for MultiVersus, we know exactly when Ranked is coming back! Player First Games announced a new character, Samurai Jack, alongside a defined date for when MultiVersus ranked mode returns.

The new release date for Ranked is alongside Season 2, on July 23rd.

It’s this date you’ve got to count down till if you can’t wait for more serious play! The game should be receiving a major update across the board on this date with our second season launching. There are two exciting new characters and with the return of Ranked MultiVersus is still to feel like it’s finally made its way to full release.

We now know the exact MultiVersus release date! Before that though, we had guesswork and assumptions. If you want to see the trail to this recent announcement, these are our past theories on when MultiVersus Ranked could come back. (Spoiler, they’re broadly wrong.)

Ranked Teased Soon and Stats Visible

A couple of new developments from MultiVersus might mean Ranked is coming back soon.

The game’s second season might be when we’re expecting it to come back, there’s some teases about this with skins it seems. Then there’s your in-game Ranked stats. Some players are reporting that these have started showing back up in game.

It could be a meaningless glitch, but it could be that preparations are being made for a return. Like the MultiVersus upcoming characters we’ve seen leaked, Ranked could be joining in Season 2. This is just a guess based on this though, it isn’t part of an announcement just yet.

When Does MultiVersus Ranked Mode Come Out?

In the initial updates for MultiVersus, we saw a few new features added like fresh characters and MultiVersus modes. Ranked isn’t turned on yet though, it’s still labeled in-game as coming soon, but a date hasn’t been given so far.

In terms of predicting when MultiVersus Ranked Mode is coming back, there are some ideas. We can probably expect it to arrive soon. It’s already been shown off and was part of the previous release. However, we’re expecting a balance patch and bug fixes to arrive first. We’ll likely see MultiVersus Ranked Mode come back as one of the first big additions to the game, potentially in July or August. It probably won’t be part of Season 1 though.

Player First Games hasn’t given any details about when we can expect MultiVersus Ranked Mode to come back. Since it is in the game though, it’ll likely be sooner than later.

MultiVersus Ranked mode might not be here at launch, but we already know a bit about it thanks to the old version of Ranked. It was a game mode where you were put against players with a similar skill level to you. This included both 2-v-2 and 1-v-1 fights. We can likely expect Ranked mode to play similarly when it returns in the future. For an exact date though, we’ll have to keep an eye on fighting game news for the next major patch.
