Tekken 7 is a fantastic game that dominated fighting game esports for years. Even with a new game on the horizon, we’re still seeing new competitive events pop up all the time. These tournaments let us know who the most skilled fighters are and can help us decide just who is the best Tekken 7 player.

Tekken is about to move over to a new game. We’re getting more Tekken 8 leaks all the time. That makes it a great time to look back at everything that happened with Tekken 7 and try to figure out just who the most impactful fighter was. The game has had some big talents take part in these events. However, looking at the biggest events there are definitely a few worth highlighting as the best Tekken 7 player.

Who is the Best Tekken 7 Player?

One of the best measures of who is the best Tekken 7 player has to be the Tekken World Tour. That’s by far the biggest event for the tournament. It’s the official circuit with the biggest prize pool and the most at stake. The winners here definitely have a claim to being the best Tekken 7 player, at least each year.

Most recently, Atif Butt took the top spot at the 2022 Tekken World Tour. This is after rising up the rankings for quite a while. As our first TWT in 3 years thanks to Covid, it’s definitely marked him out.

Atif Butt definitely has a claim to being the answer to who is the best Tekken 7 player. With another Tekken World Tour still to come for Tekken 7 though, there’s still space for this to change. There are always newer events coming up that can upend who the best player is. There’s rarely someone who can cling on to the title for more than a few years.

Other Top Players

Outside of Atif Butt’s recent domination, there are some other players with more long-term achievements in Tekken 7 which marked them out as some of the best players.

One of the first most will think of is Chikurin. He won the 2019 Capcom World Tour, and went on to come in third in 2022. That’s some high consistency at the biggest level of the game that few other players have managed. Quandans is another who has high consistency. He won back in 2017 and took second in 2018. While he isn’t on top of the game anymore and isn’t a good answer to who is the best Tekken 7 player in 2023, he’s made his mark on the title.

Ultimately who is the best player is a bit difficult to pin down. It’s subjective. However, these three have all been the top player at various times. With 7 nearly completing its time as the most current in the series with the Tekken 8 release date closing in, these are the three players mainly worth highlighting for the best Tekken 7 player.
