Chains Of Hades Gets Vaulted After Doja Cat Rages Against Weapon

The latest Fortnite season has some fun weapons, particularly those inspired by Mthology. They’ve not been around all season though, with the God mythics vaulted for much of the season in an event. Now, we’ve even had the Chains of Hades vaulted.

The whole process of events is a bit weird. A popular singer rages about an overpowered Fortnite weapon on Twitter. Then Epic removes it. However, it seems the real reason for them getting pulled out is more to do with the game’s tournaments and a bug. This is what’s happened and where the Chains of Hades is still available.

Chains of Hades Vaulted

Added a few weeks into the season in a Fortnite patch, the Chains of Hades is a fun weapon. It’s a tool that lets you grab players and pull them towards you. However, you can also use it in a melee combo to deal damage too. It’s not really going to outplay a shotgun, but it can be useful for some fun and more specialist plays.

The Chains have been vaulted from Fortnite for the final week of the season, however. They’ve been removed from one specific side of the game, the tournaments. Players dropping into the FNCS Finals over the weekend won’t be able to find the Chans lying around. Epic has decided to remove them from the game.

Epic has specified why the Chains of Hades have been vaulted, it’s a bug. A bug has been discovered which could cause too many problems in such a major tournament. They’re still in pubs and Ranked though, so players can still use them in some form.

While the reason behind the vaulting was a bug, its timing with a viral tweet was a bit suspect. Singer Doja Cat took to the social media platform recently to bemoan the Chains of Hades, that they’re for unskilled players! Not an unpopular opinion right now, but definitely a strange place to hear it from.

The timing with the Chains of Hades vaulted raised a few eyebrows. However, the Chains were likely taken away because of a simple rather than anyone’s personal opinion on them.
