Fortnite Metallica Hits Festival Season 4
Fortnite Festival features the biggest artists, but for the first few seasons, they were mainly focused on contemporary pop. With the new season, we’re getting a full Fortnite Metallica crossover! It’s more than just some tracks in festival too. We’re getting a full Fortnite Metallica takeover for Festival Season 4.
Fortnite Festival is the rhythm game side of the title. So far, crossovers have been largely contained to this game mode. A skin in the Festival pass, some songs and instruments, but not much content elsewhere. The Fortnite Festival Season 4 update is the biggest to the mode yet. There’s new content for Battle Royale, festival, and of course some Fortnite skins featuring the band themselves. This is what’s coming with Season 4:
Fortnite Metallica Crossover for Season 4
The big new feature hitting on June 22nd’s Fortnite update, and June 13’s general update, is Metallica! This is the featured artist for the next season of Fortnite festival. Not much of a surprise to anyone following Fortnite leaks, but it’s still fun to see it finally arrive in-game.

The pass for this season will feature a few songs from Metallica and other cosmetics in-game. However, we’re also getting a form of in-game experience too. Over June 22-23rd, we’ll see a Metallica experience on a creative map. This will happen three times a day.

Fortnite Festival Season 4
Season 4 of Fortnite Festival will feature Metallica as the main artist. They’ll be included in the pass, but there’s a big feature for the game mode as a whole too. Festival is getting PVP.
The Fortnite Festival Battle Stage is a new way to play. It’s an arena where players go head-to-head, 16 in a group. The top player who lasts the longest will be victorious. Both this game mode and standard Festival will help you climb your way up the battle Pass for the season.

That pass is going to feature four different outfits. James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo, and Lars Ulrich will all be unlocked on the premium tier. That’s along with songs like One. Each of these skins comes with a new Lego Fortnite style too, which is a strange juxtapose. It’s often said how crazy Fortnite has become, but facilitating a set of Metallica Lego mini-figures is still pretty surprising.

Rocket Racing Gets Metallica Content
In other modes, the Fortnite Metallica event is still bringing some fun additions. These are a new car and set of cosmetics available to those racing in Rocket Racing. Plus, a brand-new track themed around the band. Updates like these prove there’s still plenty of fun to be had in Rocket Racing. There are loads of new car parts that work in Battle Royale too.
Metallica Rifts into Battle Royale

Fortnite Festival Season 4 is hitting the other modes, but it’s also revamping an area of Battle Royale that’s become a little lacking lately. The rift in POI.
This POI appears in-game partway through every game. Claiming the POI gives you a special Chapter 5 mythic, and there’s a mod bench in there. With the design remaining static since Christmas though it hasn’t really fit into any of the themes of new seasons. The rift in POI will become Metallica-themed with this next update, so the crossover extends all the way into Battle Royale too.
