The current Fortnite season has finished up a bit of a quiet summer event, but where All Sweat Summer was kind of smaller, the Fortnite Pirates of the Caribbean collab is huge! Like last season’s Avatar collab or Ninja Turtles the season before, this is our late-game crossover. There are new items in the game, a full event pass, and changes to the loot pool. What’s new with the Fortnite Pirates of the Caribbean collab?

The big part of the new crossover is the Fortnite skins. The big event is the Fortnite Jack Sparrow skin, now available in the event pass. However, there are also a few characters in the Item Store. Plus, we’ll be able to unlock some cosmetics in the Jack Sparrow set by completing new quests.
As there’s a new pass, and there’s a new set of quests to go with it. These quests are all focused on the pirates content in-game. You’ll have to complete them to earn your way up the event pass and unlock more cosmetics. There are also some level-ups in here though so it will help out the Battle Pass progress too.

One map change is the addition of some pirate ships spread around the map. It’s a nice change from all the cars we’ve had before the Fortnite Pirates of the Caribbean collab.

There are a few unvaulting for the event, but we’ve also seen a Ship in a Bottle added. It’s a new item that looks like a jar. Open it up and you’ll be able to ride a small ship forward a little bit. It’s a mobility tool but that seems specifically designed to counter crazy stuff in this season’s loot pool.
A handful of older items are returning too. Since we’ve had a Pirate past Fortnite season, there are some old classics here too. These are the new items.
None of these items are going to be in Fortnite esports tournaments but they’ll spice up pubs over the next few weeks.

That’s what’s new, how long do you have to unlock everything? The event is due to finish up on August 6th at 4 AM, when a new update hits. That’s roughly the time you’ll have to decide if the collab’s pass is worth it and if you want to pick it up.
