How to Find Fortnite Rare Chest Locations

Fortnite Rare Chest locations can really take the leg work out of looting. When you’re opening up chests, you’ll normally just get standard green weapons and basic items. What if you want better weapons though? Fortnite Rare Chests are usually guaranteed to drop one of the best items in the game, along with more impressive utility items. However, tracking these locations down can be a bit tricky.

The Fortnite rare chest locations aren’t exactly predictable. It’s not like heading over to one of the Fortnite Shadow Briefing spots. Although, there are a few places on the map where they’ll spawn for certain. You just have to know where to go.

Where to Find Rare Chest Locations in Fortnite

Fortnite Rare Chests are random. At least for most of the map. Each spot can potentially spawn a rare chest, but the odds are against it happening. Most players will only see a truly random rare chest every few games. There’s nothing you to do to increase your chances or know where to go right from the Battle Bus. It’s pure luck and RNG.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t guaranteed Fortnite rare chest locations. There are a few places where you can be sure one is going to spawn. One of these is the Bunkers. The Mod Bench bunkers load in halfway through the game. They’re marked by an icon on the map. Inside you’ll find three Rare Chests, great for getting kitted out if you haven’t yet gotten what you need.

What Are Rare Chests?

Rare Chests, sometimes called mythic Chests or other terms, are an upgraded form of the base loot in the game. Functionally, they’re the same as normal chests. However, the pool of items inside is quite different.

Rather than getting general items like the same Fortnite weapons you’d find on the floor, rare chests have better items. That’s the only real difference. They’re much higher in rarity from here and tend to be a lot more useful. The chests are noticeable at sight though, being blue and having a special glow. They also make a bit of a different sound.

The Rare Chests in Fortnite are a great way to secure better items in games. They can’t really be banked on since they’re so RNG-based, but if you see one make sure you open it up!
