A new feature added for September is the ability to turn into a Marvel Villain in Fortnite, complete with overpowered attacks and a constantly replenishing pool of health. It’s a ridiculously powerful change, but so far the Fortnite Doom spawn rate has been tiny. That’s just changed with the recent announcement.
Epic has taken to social media just ahead of the FNCS Global Championship starting up. They’ve shown off this transformation in-game and fixed one of the frustrating aspects. Until this weekend, even if you got lucky and knew how to be Doom in Fortnite, it was incredibly rare to happen again. Now the Fortnite Doom spawn rate has been massively boosted.

At the launch of the feature, Epic had decided to make the Doom feature pretty rare. 5% rare. That meant barely any games played would have it. At this spawn rate, and players needing to get to the floating island to see it, it would mean a lot of players would never get the chance to be Doom during the event. However, for one weekend they’re more than doubling the Fortnite Doom spawn rate!
Over September 6-8th, players will have a 12% match in every game to get the Cauldron to spawn! That’s more than double. It’s still less than two in ten matches, but it is a massive increase.
If you want to try and test out the feature to become Doom this is the time. After this weekend ends there’ll be a less than half chance of it happening to you in-game.
If you do manage to luck out, you’ll want to know how to take advantage of it and get the Doom armor. The steps are easy, it’s fighting off the best Fortnite players in the lobby that’s difficult. This is what you need to do:
