Fortnite’s item shop is gearing up for the summer. We’ve had exciting new updates this season like the Metallica crossover, but we’re still waiting to see what the summer break’s event brings. Typically, that’s the time we get loads of summer skins back. There’s one here a bit early though, with the return of Mid-Summer Midas.
Midas was one of Chapter 2’s central characters, long dead, he came back in Chapter 5. Not in a “pretend he never died” way though. No. Midas came back from the dead by literally walking out of his poorly locked cell in the Underworld in Chapter 5 Season 2. He then fled the island. But if you really want to inflict misery on the one-time villain, you can drag him back into the loop kicking and screaming as mid-Summer Midas.
A new look for Midas is returning to celebrate this season’s Summer event. This marks the second seasonal events this year to feature Midas. It’s not without form though. Last summer we got a summer version of Meowscles that made him particularly laid back. What’s coming with Mid-Summer Midas this year?

Mid-Summer Midas is a different form of the villain centered around the themes of Summer. He’s in a much more casual outfit, fitting his new retirement on a yacht. Summer Midas is a skin from Season 2, but coming back it’s a mark that we’re moving into Summer and should start to see exciting new summer designs for loads of skins over the coming weeks.
Mid-Summer Midas returned on June 19th. He’ll be around for a few days, but typically Summer is the best time to pick up a skin like this. Over the coming weeks, we’ll probably see more summer versions of the best Fortnite skins arrive. Hopefully, there’s some on the level of Summer Midas in this year’s event too.
