Fortnite has had loads of collabs but some of the Chapter 1 crossovers have become quite rare. Collabs like Borderlands haven’t been back in a long time, which has meant the Psycho Bandit Fortnite skin has been missing for years. That’s going to be changing soon. After hearing from leakers saying a section has been updated to reintroduce the skin to the game, it’s now been officially announced! The Psycho Bandit Fortnite skin is coming back.
The Psycho Bandit Fortnite skin was part of the Borderlands collab. This was really quite a milestone for Fortnite collabs. It was the start of much bigger crossovers, with an area on the map dedicated to the crossover, which even tested out a new cell-shaded art style. The skins weren’t the most exciting part of things though. That was until we went thousands of days without seeing the skins! Now they’re some of the rarest skins and players go to some lengths to unlock them. Including paying extra for old codes to unlock the Psycho Bandit skin.
That won’t be necessary soon though. We’ve gotten confirmation that it’s coming back to the game.

The story of Psycho Bandit coming back to Fortnite has been all over Fortnite leaks, but the big question was when? Normally, we’re left waiting for a little while. However, Epic has put speculation to rest. The long-awaited return of the skin will happen on the next Fortnite item shop reset.
This tmeans it’s going to be available from the April 29th Fortnite Item Shop for everyone. For long though? It could be a day, could be a month. Until the shop resets we won’t get the exact end date. Once the skin does arrive though, you can find out how long you have to make the decision. You just need to highlight the item, then in the text below it’ll include the date it officially leaves the Fortnite Item Shop!
One big thing to keep in mind when a skin comes back like this is that the rarity factor will be gone. If you’re more interested in the skin simply because some people put it next to the rarest skins. That appeal will definitely pass now everyone’s had an opportunity to buy it again. It’ll be all over lobbies now the Psycho Bandit Fortnite skin is back.
Along with Psycho Bandit, the backbling Claptrap is back too. A fantastic loadout for Borderlands fans. The collab is still one that requires rights and permissions from third parties, so it might not be back in permanent rotation just because it’s back this time.
According to Fortnite leakers, the Psycho Bandit is going to return to Fortnite! The skin hasn’t been seen in over 1,700 days. Pretty much a lifetime as far as Item Shop skin refreshes go. The slot for the skin in the item shop has been updated. Usually, this means it’s pretty certain to return. Although, there have been exceptions.
In the past, updated item shop sections haven’t always led to a skin’s return. Most notably with another of the Gaming Legends Series, Kratos. The item shop section or the God of War was updated for the Greek Gods season, but he never returned. Apparently due to a hold up with licencing. Psycho Bandit looks very likely to return though, Borderlands doesn’t seem to have the same restrictions.
We can probably expect it to finally return! The skin’s original release was over 2,000 days ago in August 2019. It stuck around for a few days and had a two day return in September. Then, a three-day appearance in May 2020. That was it. If the Psycho bandit Fortnite skin returns then it’ll be your first chance to purchase it in nearly 5 years!
