Fortnite’s latest update is a big one! There are new items, map changes, and a huge new collab. It’s partly that collab that’s gotten a few Fortnite fans a bit mixed up though. What does Fortnite Never Never Land mean?

The official Fortnite social media accounts have been teasing the new content drop this week. After matchmaking issues, Epic began dropping patch notes early. They’ve already detailed what’s coming with the Fortnite Metallica collab for Festival Season 4. However, their teases about this new event might have been oddly worded to some. Fortnite sent out the message we’re off to never never land.

Those not familiar with the Sandman assumed this was talking specifically about Fortnite terminology. Maybe this update was teasing some bizarre play style where you drop from the Battle Bus, loop through rifts, and try to never touch the ground! It has been done before. However, that seemingly wasn’t the meaning behind Fortnite never never land. In fact, it’s a pretty simple tease for the next update on the schedule.

What Does the Fortnite Never Never Land Tweet Mean?

In the hype for the next Fortnite update, the official status account has tweeted we’re off to Never Never Land. If you didn’t catch what this was in reference too, it’s the Fortnite Metallica crossover. We’re off to Never Never Land is a lyric from the song Enter the Sandman. One of Metallica’s biggest hits.

Essentially all Fortnite was trying to do was give a little hint at the Metallica crossover by referencing one of their biggest songs. The Fortnite Never Never Land tweet was simply teasing what’s coming next. If fans were hoping for some stranger explanation, that’s all it is!

The Metallica crossover will be a fun change of pace for the game. We’ve already had a few artists in the game, but Metallica is pretty different to what we’ve seen before in Festival.
