Where is the Ruins in Fortnite?

Fortnite’s current map might have the fewest POIs to date, but there are loads of smaller non-named locations you’ve got to be aware of. These aren’t marked though. Even when we get quests that push us to go to specific locations, it can be tricky to know exactly where all the smaller locations are, like where is the Ruins in Fortnite Chapter 4?

The Ruins are a Fortnite POI which isn’t named on the map. You’re not going to find it by glancing over at the map. They’re not big enough to get a level that makes it easy to find them. However, the ruins are a spot that has shown up on multiple maps, the current version looks quite a bit different than it did in the past. This is where you can find them on the new map.

Where is the Ruins in Fortnite Chapter 4?

The Fortnite Chapter 4 Map doesn’t quite have the same ruins as past maps. Previously, they’d been a bigger POI with temple elements and a lot of quests centered around them. However, in Fortnite Chapter 4 they’re a bit different. They’re instead tied into the Citadel and other medieval-themed buildings. This time, they’re the Royal Ruins.

The Royal Ruins are located on the west on the map. You can find them just east of the Western Watch. They look similar to the other stone buildings where you’ll find so many more Oathbound chests than normal! Always a nice bonus if you’re landing near there.

Since these ruins are similar to the other buildings spread all over the rest of the map, they’re easy to miss. However, where is the Ruins in Fortnite Chapter 4 is by the Western Watch.

This is a solid enough landing spot, but there isn’t enough here to automatically catapult you higher up the Fortnite ranks or anything! It’s a nice spot but doesn’t really have enough gear to warrant landing here.

Ruins in Each Chapter

The Fortnite Ruins aren’t just a POI in the current season. In the past, they’ve been a pretty important spot. Last Chapter, they were central to a lot of goings-on in various Seasons.

Last Chapter’s ruins were a frequent feature in quests, with daily quests to hang around the Ruins popping up quite a lot. These were found just past the Daily Bugle and had a decent amount of loot. Much like the Fortnite Chapter 4 ruins though, they weren’t named POI. If you’re wondering where is the Ruins in Fortnite Chapter 4, it is different to these past seasons.

That was where is the Fortnite ruins in older Chapters were, They appeared in Chapter 3, but also in Chapter 2 of the game. The Ruins are an archetype that Epic brings back to the Fortnite map loads, most Chapters end up with their version of the POI.

The current Royal Ruins in Chapter 4 are a nice nod to all of the Ruins we’ve had in the past. Although, they aren’t really the same type with the more Aztec-looking designs. Over the next few seasons though, we might get more ruins! This could be a return for the more classic style of Fortnite ruins!

The current Royale Ruins seem pretty strongly tied into the Citadel and other theming for the POIs. We don’t know if all of these POIs will be sticking around for future seasons, things are pretty likely to change. These current POIs won’t be here all Chapter, we might not even see them past the next Fortnite esports major.
