A new bug has hit, right as players jump in to play the new Fortnite live event, they are finding you can’t change your Fortnite skin again. Just like the start of the season. This time there’s a much easier solution though.
The game’s had bugs all season, although at least this one has a little disclaimer to let you know who is effected. The Fortnite Remix update has been one of the buggiest we’ve seen so far. With Creative and Rocket Racing turned off completely on some platforms, Reload missing entirely at launch, there have been a lot of problems. However, if you want to see out the Live event right in a specific skin, there is an easy workaround.

Logging into the Fortnite Remit event, a lot of players have been greeted not with the face of their normal favorite Fortnite skin. But instead with a default. In the top right corner, those affected can see this little warning:

This is obviously frustrating. logging in to find you can’t change your Fortnite skin. However, there is a workaround for now. As the message says, your locker presets aren’t available right now. That means no specifically chosen outfits like we’re used to. However, that doesn’t mean your stuck with the default.

If you still want to change skins for the event, there’s an easy solution! Jump into your locker and manually select the item. That’s all you need to do!
It’s a little inconvenient. After all, you probably prefer to have your pre-chosen preset. However, if you have the time to manually select your skins you’re able to get it done! Hopefully, the bug will be resolved soon. At the moment, locker slots are completely disabled for some people. We’re also waiting in a Fortntie queue to start the game as a whole, so some problems are to be expected with the servers so packed.

Back when Remix first launched, players ran into a similar bug. if this locker problem persists for you after the event, it might be worthwhile trying a few of these older fixes to get your locker back.

Since this problem has been pretty widespread, players have gone hunting for their own fix. Two different methods have been found so far:
The first fix is to reset all your pre-sets, all the stuff you’re wearing and make sure it’s not defaulting to a pre-set. Clear them. The skin, emotes, even jam tracks and cars. This has fixed it for a lot of people. Although, it’s obviously frustrating when you’ll have to remake presets because Epic won’t stop fiddling with the locker UI.
Another “fix” some players have had is to do with Lego. load into Lego, start and quit a game, then come back and switch back to normal Battle Royale. This one appears to effect some people who were in Lego when the locker UI update hit. However, this one has likely affected much fewer people.

Fr bro…i bought the battlepass…whenever i equip the ghost agent skin and start the game…i have gwenpool equiped instead of ghost agwnt…it bugs soo much man…like i wanna try out these shittt man…
i can’t change my skin i have soccer skin and i try to change it it changes but if i change my pickaxe the skin changes and if i change my skin and go to a game it goes back to soccer and its with everything gliders, wraps, emotes, back blings and contrails

It’s not with the skin you wore to the event, I know this because I wore iron man to the live event but the glitch is stuck on mystique for me.
its been a day and it still isn’t fixed so I’m starting to assume it will be fixed in the next actual update
To fix this, you have to clear every section in your locker, then set It to what you want
Not necessarily true I did that and it just reset everything
I am so mad that I cant change my skin because I didn’t even go to the live event but I was wearing the blaze skin when the update came but I am stuck with the War Machine skin so epic games needs to fix this bug NOW

Today it November 4 and my skin glich is still not fixed I find that very disappointing when we are paying to have a skin and cannot use it come on epic games This should mean all players with this problem so get a rebate 40$ and can’t even use the skin hopefully they have an update soon

Yeah they need to fix this it has been four days and they have not given us any insight about this I am thinking about deleting fortnite
I had this problem but All you need to do is clear all categories in your locker including your jam tracks and then choose your skin and it should fix
