Descenders Next had an initial release date of December 6, 2024. This was an initial release for the console platforms, with the Steam version coming in 2025. At the time of writing this article, there is no locked in release date for Descenders Next, although it was set on April 9 at the ID@Xbox FanFest. With the Steam landing page for Descenders Next simply saying it’s ‘coming soon’, we have yet to see if April 9 is the release date.
While there is no guarantee on when the game will release for the PC, players can wishlist the game on Steam to ensure their account gets notified when the game comes out.

As mentioned above, the game did have an initial release on the console. This game is available across multiple consoles, including the older generation. Given that this is a sports game, it’s expected that games to be released for the older generations. Normally, sports games like NBA2K will have the older generation consoles, such as the PS4 and Xbox One, have the same version as the PC. And while it’s unfair on the PC players, it’s normally a much easier task for the developers to produce a better optimized game on the PC, than to upscale to the modern machines.

As stated above, this is a winter sports game that sees players competing in extreme sports on a snowboard. What’s cool about this game is that it is crossplay, meaning players can play with players who are on the PC and on the console. It hasn’t been confirmed if the PC players will be able to play with the current-gen players, but we’ll update you once that information is public.

The game’s prequel, Descenders, was a big success, having ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ ratings on Steam, so we should expect this installment to be a banger too.
