Where To Find The Bogged Mobs in Minecraft
The Bogged has officially arrived in Minecraft! Following the implementation of the 1.21 update, this brand-new hostile mob is yours to contend with. The Tricky Trials update focused largely on hostility, as the generated structure that arrived is hostile and both major mobs that were added are as well. The Bogged is a little more common than the other mob added and than the structure, but it’s still not very common. Here’s where you can find it.

Where to Find Bogged in Minecraft 1.21
Fortunately, the Bogged is an easier mob to locate than the Breeze, its 1.21 counterpart. The Bogged can spawn in the swamp and Mangrove swamp biomes. It is a variant of a skeleton, so it functions in the same way. Consider it the new version of the Stray mob, as the Bogged spawn exclusively in those biomes like the Stray spawns in the ice. Additionally, it fires different arrows just like the Stray. The Bogged can hit players with poison arrows.
When these mobs are killed, they can drop the following:
- Bones
- Arrows
- Arrows of Poison
- Damaged Bow
They grow mushrooms on their body, which is part of the swamp aesthetic. They can spawn near witches, who also poison players. This makes the swamp a much more deadly biome as there are now a lot of ways to get poisoned, which takes players down to extremely low health.
The swamp is not the sole place these mobs can spawn, though. They are also found in the Trial Chambers, a brand new structure to 1.21. These copper and tuff buildings have spawners inside primarily for the Breeze, which is the only way Breeze can spawn. However, they may also spawn Bogged as part of the trial. The only way to find these structures is with a map from a Cartographer villager, so you are better off looking for the swamp and Mangrove swamp biomes to find them.
How to Harvest Mushrooms from Bogged in Minecraft
Harvesting mushrooms from Bogged is dangerous. These mobs can deal a lot of damage in a short amount of time, and being poisoned is never good in Minecraft. Nevertheless, if you want to harvest mushrooms from the Skeleton variant, you can. This is not an item they will drop when killed, so don’t do that. It may be beneficial to set up some sort of barrier for it. If you can keep it contained and with a block to protect yourself, you could easily farm it.
All you need to do the actual farming is a pair of shears. The Minecraft community begged for Mojang to implement this feature. In snapshot 24w09a, they did. Now, players can use shears on the Bogged and it will yield two mushrooms. They can be red, brown, or one of each. You will need to let the Bogged grow mushrooms back, just like a sheep must grow wool back after being sheared.
