If there is one player who is considered the most polarizing in BGMI esports, it’s Spower. Since the start of his professional career, he has been touted to become a prodigy within esports. During the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Series (BGIS) 2025, Spower helped his team secure the trophy and a prize of over $81,000. In this candid conversation with Spower, we discuss his journey from his early days to the last time we won an official BGMI tournament, which was back in 2023.

Spower: Honestly, it truly feels amazing. It is a truly blissful experience to have won both the BGIS 2025 and BMPS 2023 trophies in my esports career. Within the Indian BGMI ecosystem, these tournaments are the most crucial ones to win.

Well, now I am officially a double champion as well, and I hope that in the upcoming official tournaments we perform well. Else, we feel good, the team is thrilled right now, and this has been an incredible experience for us as a team.

A major shoutout to my teammates and the IGL himself, Saumraj, for making this possible.

In the past, we have seen many people doubting your professional choices in your career due to your frequent changes in teams. What do you find about this team that has made you a part of it for a long time?

If we talk about why I’ve been part of this team for over five months, well, both inside the game as players and outside as friends, the team bond is excellent. We understand each other quite well.

Yes, there have been instances where we’ve been angry with each other, but after two minutes, we apologize to each other. Due to these factors, the atmosphere around the team, during practice and tournaments, is quite positive.

Due to this, everyone in the Team Versatile is happy, and thus we can perform in the manner that we are.

Two years ago, during the BGIS 2023, I remember seeing you at the venue in Mumbai, not as a player but as a spectator in the audience. Do you remember that moment, and how does it make you feel that 2 years later you lift that same trophy?

Oh my lord, in the last two years, I have had various opportunities to win this trophy, but I didn’t. I believe that over the past two years, as an individual, I have learned a great deal and reflected on my past mistakes.

I think I am now in a good mental and emotional state as a player, and my goal is to improve and work on correcting some of the mistakes I made during BGIS 2025.

During 2024, you have played under four different teams. Each of these teams has new players and a different in-game leader (IGL). Has it ultimately benefited you?

In some situations, yes, it has helped me quite a bit. Due to playing under different IGLs, I have gained an understanding of each of their playstyles. At the same time, I am now aware of some of their tendencies in certain situations during a given match.

It also helped my team during BGIS 2025 that I have this understanding and good knowledge. If we’re talking about my play style, it has been consistent throughout. I have only been learning to improve myself.

While I can learn from others, it is the individual mistakes I make that I need to work on. It is up to me to continue improving and becoming the best version of myself.

Suppose you could tell something to the Spower that was watching his friends play during BGIS 2023. What would you tell him and why?

Well, first of all, you and your team are doing well. You will embark on an incredible journey that will teach you a great deal about yourself. Do your thing, because the 2025 and 2023 versions are still quite similar. and yes the 2025 version of Spower has finally won the BGIS trophy.
