Esports.net: What do you think went wrong today?

Faker: Overall I just think that we were less prepared than the other team and personally I also think my performance wasn’t as good as it could’ve been.

Lee Jones: Game one went heavily in BLG’s favour, and then game two was heavily in your favor.

Why do you think there was such a drastic swing between maps?

Faker: Generally speaking, it’s just that if you play games, sometimes you win some and sometimes you lose some. Since we’re playing matches against really strong teams — the top teams in the world — when you’re trading games sometimes it tends to be more winnable for the other team but then the next match it’s for us.

Lee Jones: Talking of other strong teams, I wanted to ask you about the mid lane pool. There is immense mid lane talent at MSI with the likes of yourself, Chovy, and knight competing, amongst other.

Who do you currently see as the best mid laner in the world?

Obviously the mid laner from the team that wins MSI would be the best mid laner.

Faker: The tournament is still ongoing and we don’t have a set winner yet. I think that all of the mid laners you have mentioned and all of the mid laners that are participating are very good laners.

Lee Jones: In interviews with Ashley Kang and Carver Fisher, you’ve spoken about your recent change in mindset to veer away from only being influenced by wins and losses. It seems like this change coincided with your return to winning Worlds.

Do you think this change could lead to renewed international success and another T1 dynasty?

Faker: Personally I don’t really dwell much in the past. The past is the past and I don’t really think much about it. All I’m really focused on is what’s happening now, the tournament that is currently ongoing. And that is what is most important in this MSI.

Lee Jones: Your next series will be against North America’s Team Liquid with a matchup against their outspoken mid laner APA.

What are your thoughts on the matchup, do you have any words for APA ahead of the series?

Since they are the top seed of LCS, it’s obviously true that he’s a good mid laner. But we’ll just practice hard and prepare well for a good match against APA and Team Liquid.

Finally, what’s your favourite Chinese dish?

I like Hotpot.
