So far, there are a total of 65 female champions in the game, ranging from assassins, mages, marksmen, and even tanks. As of 2025, there are 65 female champions in the game. This number will only go up as new champions are introduced in the upcoming seasons.
With 170 champions currently released on the live servers, the percentage of female champions is around 38%, making a significant part of the roster (increasing from 36% previously).
The latest one is Mel Medarda, which was released towards the start of the 2025 season.
There isn’t a fixed rate of releases for every season but Riot Games always makes sure there are new champions added to make the game refreshing. And every single year, there are at least one or two female characters added.
