LoL Patch Schedule – All dates and updates for 2025

League of Legends is notoriously known for its consistent updates throughout all season. With such an incredible amount of champions available to play, having a balanced game is an incredibly tough task to do. That’s why the developers deliver consistent patch updates every few weeks (usually two).

These updates are usually done to keep the game refreshing and avoid having repetitive metas where the strongest champions are being constantly played. At the beginning of every season, Riot publishes its planned patch schedule for LoL that covers the entire year.

While there are times when things do not go as planned, like when Riot suffered a social engineering attack, most of the time the balance team is quite punctual with the update releases.

For season 15, Riot announced a total of 24 patch updates, divided into three seasons. Riot initially used a new naming system to represent the patch updates and the season it referred to: for example, the first patch of 2025 was called 25.S1.1.

Starting from the fourth patch of 2025, however, Riot went back to a more traditional naming as they thought it wasn’t the “easiest thing to communicate and wasn’t really hitting the mark the way they hoped”. Going forward, the naming will be based on the year and number of the patches within that season (25.04 refers to the 4th patch of 2025). With that said, the planned patch schedule is as follows:

At what time do League of Legends patches go live?

There isn’t a fixed time schedule for the League of Legends patches, but they are typically done overnight when there is the lowest amount of active players. Depending on region to region, the maintenance for the patches starts at different times:

• EUW – 5 am CET (4 am GMT)
• EUNE – 3 am CET
• NA – 3 am PT (12 pm CET)

The Oceanic region (OCE) is usually the first to receive the update due to time zones, followed by Korea (and China), Europe, and then North America.

The maintenance time usually lasts around 3 hours. Once the patch notes are added, players will be able to head back into Summoners’ Rift by downloading the new patch.
