All teams qualified for LoL MSI 2024
All teams except one have all been locked in for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI). After the tournament was held in London last year, MSI is heading to Chengdu, China this year, kicking off the action on May 1 until the finals on May 19.
Unfortunately, reigning MSI champions JD Gaming won’t be defending their title after they were eliminated by Top Esports in the LPL Spring playoffs. That said, there are quite a lot of familiar faces among the participants of the tournament: let’s check out which teams have made it to MSI 2024.
LCK
- Gen.G – 1st seed
- T1 – 2nd seed
The LCK is the only region with the same teams from last year: T1 and Gen.G continue to dominate the Korean league and despite HLE’s attempt at dethroning one of the two, the two Korean teams will be in Chengdu, hoping to overturn last year’s disappointing run.
LPL
- BiliBili Gaming – 1st seed
- Top Esports – 2nd seed
BLG was part of MSI last year as well when the team made an incredible run until the finals when they lost to JDG. This year, however, they come back with more hunger and an upgrade in the mid lane position, as Knight joined the lineup. Top Esports, instead, was able to clinch the second slot with some impressive performances throughout playoffs. They will be to watch out for during the tournament.
LEC
- G2 Esports – 1st seed
- Fnatic – 2nd seed
G2 are back at MSI after last year to improve their international results and prove that EU is ready to fight. FNC, despite not looking as convincing, will hope to make their magic happen.
LCS
- Team Liquid – 1st seed
- FlyQuest – 2nd seed
It will be interesting to watch the LCS on the international stage. The region hasn’t looked good in previous editions but TL is back to MSI: remember what happened last time they were part of the tournament?
PCS
- PSG Talon
PSG was able to defend their position after an incredible run by the LJL team Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS gaming. Among the wildcard regions, they are probably the ones that can get closest to the major regions.
VCS
- GAM Esports
GAM were able to qualify after changing two of its members following the allegations around match-fixing. We’ll see whether they can keep up with the replacements.
LLA
- Estral Esports
Estral Esports dominated the LLA from start to finish, winning against R7 in a one-sided victory in the final.
CBLOL
- TBC (it will be one team between LOUD and paiN Gaming)
