NA LCS Match predictions – Week 2 Day 1

Game 1 – Counter Logic Gaming vs. Team Liquid

Team Liquid may have failed to perform in 2017, however, their performance in the 2018 NA LCS Spring Playoffs was nothing short than extraordinary. They were able to claim first with a 3-0 win against 100 Thieves. This was on top of the Doublelift family tragedy. Counter Logic Gaming on the other hand finished seventh in the Spring split, a large dip in performance compared to their top three finish in the Summer of 2017.

Prediction: Counter Logic Gaming 27% l Team Liquid 73%

Game 2 – Team SoloMid vs. Clutch Gaming

One of the oldest League of Legends teams against Clutch Gaming, a team that was just formed at the end of 2017. Team SoloMid were expected to far outperform the other NA LCS teams with their new roster starting 2018, however, they failed to give results. Clutch Gaming on the other hand were able to place above TSM in the Spring playoffs. That said, TSM looked really good in week 1, going 2-0. The games finally show TSM in synergy after half a year, a great sign for SoloMid.

Prediction: Team SoloMid 60% l Clutch Gaming 40%

Game 3 – OpTic Gaming vs. Echo Fox

OpTic Gaming finished ninth place last split, a largely disappointing performance for a team who was hyped up to an extremely great degree. Optic are no match for Echo Fox who were able to make one of the biggest turn arounds between a single split. Echo fox’s new star filled roster wowed all, the team finishing second in the Spring regular season and achieving a top three finish in the Spring playoffs. Echo fox were also able to start off with a strong 2-0 showing in week 1, taking down Clutch Gaming and 100 Thieves, some of the better teams in the NA LCS

Prediction: Optic Gaming 24% l Echo Fox 76%

Game 4 – 100 Thieves vs. Fly Quest

These two teams flopped in week 1 of the 2018 NA LCS Summer split, losing both of their games. The Thieves are seriously underperforming considering their top finish in the Spring split earlier this year, the members have a lot to work on if they wish to get back to their former glory. Luckily for the Thieves, week 1 is not a definitive gauge of a team’s future performance. Fly Quest also do not look too good, the game 4 can go both ways but is slightly in the Thieves’ favour simply due to the roster’s individual skill.

Prediction: 100 Thieves 54% l Fly Quest 46%

Game 5 – Golden Guardians vs. Cloud 9

The Golden Guardians fell hard in the Spring split, finishing last, however, they managed to take the win against Team Liquid in week 1 . This has shown the team has improved, given TL are one of the top teams in the league. While Cloud 9’s new roster is by no means bad, it is unable to make Cloud 9 climb back to their former glory. As a result, the Golden Guardians and Cloud 9 are fairly evenly matched.

Prediction: Golden Guardians 52% l Cloud 9 48%
