Korean esports organization T1 announced it will host an official LCK match at the Goyang Sono Arena in Goyang, South Korea.

T1 Home Ground – an LCK match in its own Arena

Up to 6,200 people will be able to take part in the “T1 Home Ground”, the official event that will take place at the Goyang Sono Arena on June 29, 2024. T1’s League of Legends team and their opponents KT Rolster will be playing their LCK official match. The “telecom war” will have the chance to establish itself as yet another memorable battle.

This will be the first time an LCK team will host and manage an official match, which is usually taken care of by Riot Korea at LoL Park in Seoul.

With an increased capacity, T1 Home Ground is looking to elevate the esports experience for fans and provide a new way of enjoying esports action, becoming closer to traditional sports where teams have the home and away distinction.

Aside from having the excitement of cheering for their favorite team and players, fans will be able to purchase exclusive T1 Home Ground merchandise, as well as access to food and beverages crafted by the organization’s chefs and the T1 Cafe and Arena.

“T1 Home Ground isn’t a one-time event; we want to pave the way through events like this as a way to spotlight our other teams’ matches, content, and business ventures,” said Josh Ahn, T1’s Chief Operating Officer. “But most importantly, we are trying to build up the team lead home game industry.”

T1 gaining traction inside and outside the game

Despite not being able to win the Mid-Season Invitational earlier this month, T1 has been under the spotlight after legendary mid laner Faker was announced as the first inductee in the Hall of Legends. The GOAT of League of Legends will not only be celebrated through a media event day but he will also featured within the game with a special event pass and exclusive bundles that will go over his entire career.
