Brawl Stars Championship 2024 LCQ will take place at Gamescom

The Snapdragon Pro Series Brawl Stars Championship 2024 Last-Chance Qualifier (LCQ) will happen at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany on Aug. 24 and 25, ESL announced today. The event will be the last stop before the 2024 World Finals for the game and will determine the last few teams who will go on to compete for the world title.

“Gamescom is an iconic moment for the gaming industry, and we’re proud to be returning to the event for the third year in a row in partnership with Supercell,” said Sam Braithwaite, the VP of game ecosystems and mobile at ESL. “This is the perfect event to do it with; The Last Chance Qualifier represents the esports storylines fans love – hungry underdogs fighting for their place on the world stage – and celebrates how mobile’s accessibility can be a path to the highest level of pro play.”

The tournament is a part of ESL and Supercell’s multi-year partnership for Brawl Stars, which has seen the game’s esports scene become a part of the Snapdragon Pro Series.

Gamescom will play host to the Brawl Stars Championship LCQ – what you need to know

The Brawl Stars Championship LCQ will feature 12 teams from five different regions, namely North America, Asia-Pacific, South America, EMEA, and China.

In a release, ESL revealed that Hall 8 at Gamescom will turn into a “mobile esports celebration.” Besides the esports action, fans will be able to participate in different activities, meet-ups, and giveaways.

“Hosting the Last Chance Qualifier at Gamescom brings competition in one of Germany’s most popular mobile games to a passionate audience,” said Kim Jensen, the head of Brawl Stars esports at Supercell. “We’re looking forward to sharing this pivotal moment on the road to the Brawl Stars World Finals with hundreds of thousands of attendees.”

The top four teams from the LCQ will book their slots in the Brawl Stars World Finals 2024, set to happen in November with a $1 million base prize pool. They will be joined by eight other teams to battle it out for the title of world champions.
