How to play COD Mobile on Nintendo Switch

Call of Duty: Mobile, as the name suggests, is specifically designed for mobile. But, of course, gamers being gamers, have found ways to run it on other platforms using emulators. This has led a lot of Nintendo Switch users to wonder if there’s a way to get in on the COD Mobile action on their handheld console.

No, Call of Duty Mobile isn’t available on the Nintendo Switch. The game, developed by TiMi Studios and published by Activision, was specifically made for iOS and Android devices. It’s been optimized to make the most out of mobile hardware offering a mix of classic Call of Duty gameplay with features tailored for touchscreens.

Even though the Nintendo Switch has a growing library of games, COD Mobile isn’t one of them. The Switch’s hardware and control setup are pretty different from those of mobile devices so porting a game built for touch controls to a console with physical buttons would be a major challenge.

Another thing to keep in mind is that COD Mobile doesn’t support cross-platform play with consoles or PCs. So even if there were a way to get it running on the Switch, you’d likely end up playing by yourself separated from the broader COD Mobile community which could make multiplayer pretty lonely.

If you’re itching to play Call of Duty on the Switch, you’ll have to look elsewhere. While the Call of Duty series isn’t officially on the Switch, there are other similar games you can check out. Games like Warface and Paladins offer team-based first-person shooter action that might fill the void for COD fans. There’s also Fortnite which, while different, still delivers a fast-paced multiplayer shooter experience that works great on the Switch.

Chances are Activision will develop a separate version of Call of Duty specifically for Nintendo Switch consoles in the future. In March 2023, Activision explained that Call of Duty Warzone and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) ‘could be’ ported to Nintendo Switch with relative ease. It was a promising note for fans who felt starved of a good shooter title on Nintendo’s flagship console.
