
EWC 2024 – Free Fire Kicks Off with Buriram United in the Lead
The Esports World Cup (EWC) 2024 Free Fire Group Stage kicked off with a bang at the Boulevard Riyadh City’s BR Arena. The tournament features 18 top teams across the globe competing for the lion’s share of the $1 million prize pool.

Top Highlights from Day 1 of Esports World Cup 2024 Free Fire
Group stage for the EWC 2024 Free Fire has been divided into groups A, B, and C, constituting six teams each. The opening day featured Groups A and B matches, where each team competed in four rounds across maps like Bermuda, Purgatory, Kalahari, Alpine, and Nexterra.
Buriram United Esports from Thailand emerged as the standout team, dominating the leaderboard with 122 points and an impressive 68 kills. Their strategic gameplay and aggressive tactics secured them top positions in multiple rounds, making them the team to watch.
Brazil’s LOUD followed closely with 103 points and 60 kills. Their consistent performance and skillful maneuvers kept them in the upper ranks, showcasing the competitive spirit of the Brazilian squad.
Indonesia’s RRQ Kazu also made a strong showing, finishing third with 91 points and 47 kills. Their balanced approach and teamwork paid off, placing them ahead of several formidable opponents.
Other Notable Performances
Thailand’s All Gamers, Brazil’s Miners.gg, and Indonesia’s EVOS Divine rounded out the top six, each demonstrating moments of brilliance. All Gamers secured 86 points with 52 kills, thanks to their aggressive playstyle. Miners.gg, with 64 points and 36 kills, and EVOS Divine, with 60 points and 37 kills, displayed resilience and strategic finesse.
Despite facing stiff competition, Vietnam’s P Esports and Mexico’s RETA Esports managed to hold their ground, finishing in the top eight with 58 and 49 points, respectively. Pakistan’s Hotshot Esports and Brazil’s Fluxo also put up commendable fights, rounding out the top ten.
What’s next in EWC 2024 Free Fire
The group stage continues until July 12, with each group playing 12 matches. The top 12 teams from the group stage will advance to the Points Rush stage on July 13, where they will compete in six matches to gain head start points for the Grand Finals.
The grand finals is set for July 14. The champions will not only claim the lion’s share of the $1 million prize pool but also earn a coveted spot in the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Global Finals 2024.
