Free Fire Esports Arrives To The USA With Championship 2025
Since its launch, Free Fire has become the go-to battle royale for most mobile gaming fans. A reason for this could be that the game is able to run on low-end mobile devices. For the past few years, the game has hosted multiple tournaments around the world, except in one country: the United States. Garena is trying to change that following their announcement of the Free Fire USA Championship. In this article, let us take a look at all the details about the event.

Free Fire is one of the most played games by mobile phone players. In many countries, the game is consistently present in the top-charts on the Google Play Store.
Recently, we have seen the esports ecosystem of Free Fire expand following its inclusion in the Esports World Cup. Back in 2024, it was added to the inaugural tournament in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With a prize pool of over $1 million, the team that won the event was Team Falcons, one of 18 teams from around the world.
Since that event, all eyes have been on the upcoming Free Fire tournament at the EWC. When Garena announced the USA Championship, many wondered why. The tournament will have a total prize pool of $30,000.
After a long time, we will be seeing Garena invest in a tournament in the USA. Within the current ecosystem, the publisher has focused more on countries in South America. A significant reason for this is the massive mobile gaming population. This is also true for other regions with their leagues, such as Bangladesh, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as Southeast Asia.

Players can register for the Free Fire USA Championship in-game. Following this, on June 7 and 8, the qualifiers will take place, out of which 24 teams will qualify for the group stage. The group stage will take place from June 21 to June 29. Each team will play a total of 8 matches.
The top 18 teams will qualify for the knockout phase, which will take place on July 5 and 6. Teams will be split into groups of 6, with each team playing eight matches in total. The top 12 teams will play in the Grand Finals on July 12th.
Sadly, the winning team from this event won’t get a spot in the upcoming EWC Free Fire tournament. It will be interesting to note if this is the beginning of Garena trying to tap into the new waves of mobile gamers within the USA.
