MOONTON unveils M6 World Championship slots distribution

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) year-end tournament, the M6 World Championship, is set to happen in Kuala Lumpur. Ahead of the anticipated event in November, the developer has unveiled the slots distribution for the M6 World Championship. Here’s everything you need to know.

Just like last year, the M6 has been split into a Wildcard and the Main Stage. Most of the established regions with huge audiences for the game receive a direct slot into the Main Stage along with some of the newer regions. The Wildcard gives an opportunity to up-and-coming regions for a shot at glory in the M6 World Championship.

Wildcard Stage

In the Wildcard, eight teams will be competing for a single slot to the Main Event. All regions have a single slot in this stage. The overlapping regions that have slots in the Main Event and the Wildcard indicate that the runners-up will play here.

  • EECA
  • Turkey
  • Latin America
  • MENA
  • China
  • Mongolia
  • Mekong
  • TBD

Interestingly, South Asia hasn’t been given a slot this year. However, there is a TBD slot to be announced which could go to this region.

Furthermore, MLBB, which was banned in 2020 for alleged data privacy concerns in India, came back to the country under a new moniker, MOBA Legends: 5v5 earlier this year. It remains to be seen if the country could be a part of this yet-to-be-announced slot.

Main Event

The slot distribution for the Main Stage of the MLBB M6 World Championship is as follows:

  • Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia: Two teams each
  • Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar, North America, EECA, Turkey, Latin America, MENA, and China: 1 team each
  • Winner of the Wildcard Stage

The M World Championships were born in 2019 with the finals of the M1 taking place at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 2024 edition is now making a return to the same venue six years later.

Besides the bragging rights, the teams are fighting for a share of the humongous $1 million prize pool.
