MLBB MSC 2024 Playoffs: Liquid Echo, Selangor Red Giants advance to semis

The MLBB MSC 2024 Playoffs commenced today, introducing the high-stakes single elimination bracket where only victory secures a team’s progression and a shot at the trophy.

On July 10, the Esports World Cup MSC quarterfinals featured riveting clashes between Liquid Echo and Falcon Esports, and Selangor Red Giants versus Fire Flux Esports, treating fans to some of the tournament’s most competitive gameplay.

MSC 2024 Playoffs Highlights

Liquid Echo vs Falcon Esports

Team Liquid Echo was considered the favorite going into the series. The world champions had not dropped even a single game in the Group Stage and had qualified for Playoffs quite comfortably.

Echo was able to outdraft their opponents Falcon Esports throughout the series. The incredible performances from KarlTzy and Jaypee allowed Echo to get a solid two-game lead.

With their backs against the wall, Falcon managed to secure a win in the third game by opting for an off-meta Zhask pick. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to hold onto the momentum as Echo came back with a vengeance by executing an almost perfect fourth game to seal the series with a 3-1 victory.

Selangor Red Giants vs Fire Flux Esports

This matchup proved to be a seesaw battle, with victories alternating between the teams and pushing the series to a decisive fifth game. The Selangor Red Giants initially took control with a strategic Ling pick in the jungle, winning two of the first three games. In response, Fire Flux Esports adapted by banning Ling in the subsequent matches.

Despite this adjustment, Fire Flux managed to win the fourth game, tying the series. In the final match, however, Selangor Red Giants executed a dominant strategy that overwhelmed Fire Flux, eliminating them from the competition.

With these results, Liquid Echo and Selangor Red Giants have advanced to the Semifinals of the Esports World Cup MSC 2024. The excitement continues tomorrow, July 11, with quarterfinals featuring Falcons AP. Bren vs See You Soon and NIP Flash vs HomeBois.
