PUBG Mobile will get 120 FPS support in Version 3.2

PUBG Mobile is one of the most played mobile games worldwide, and one of the reasons players are hooked to it is its optimized and smooth performance. Fans can rejoice, though, as that performance is set to get even better as Tencent has confirmed that 120 FPS support is coming to PUBG Mobile in the upcoming Version 3.2.

Currently, PUBG Mobile only supports up to 90 FPS, but that is only available on select devices when you are playing the game on smooth graphics. For the unaware, FPS stands for frames-per-second, meaning the number of frames that show on your screen in a second. Thus, the higher the number, the smoother your gameplay experience is.

However, PUBG Mobile has different ways of optimizing graphics and frame rates in the game to ensure overall smooth performance and lesser overheating issues. To tackle this, players will usually need to reduce their graphics settings in exchange for a higher frame rate. This comes down to a personal preference.

However, if you are someone looking to play in a professional setting, we would recommend selecting the lowest graphics possible in exchange for a smoother frame rate. Lower graphics will not make it tougher for you to spot enemies but instead will reduce the quality of certain elements in the game. When you are playing professionally, every second counts so having a smoother setting is preferred.

When will 120 FPS come into PUBG Mobile?

PUBG Mobile has confirmed that the 120 FPS option will drop in the next Version 3.2 update. Currently, Tencent released Version 3.1 earlier in March and going by the company’s bi-monthly update timeline, this setting will likely be released in early May.

While the company has confirmed that the setting is coming to the game, it will likely only be supported on certain high-end smartphones. The company has said in a tweet that it will be revealing more information about device compatibility soon.

One more thing to note is the surprising timing of the announcement for the 120 FPS feature. Version 3.2 is still more than a month away, and the current announcement seems like a reaction to the release of Warzone Mobile, which actually supports 120 FPS. Nonetheless, it’s a good sign for the gamers who have been waiting to play the game at a higher frame rate. And it will undoubtedly give a boost to PUBG Mobile’s already large playerbase.
