Team Falcons win Esports World Cup – Free Fire 2024 from two matches
Team Falcons were one of the favorites going into the Esports World Cup – Free Fire – and the Thai squad didn’t disappoint. Despite a comparatively disappointing performance in the Knockout Stage and the Points Rush stage, they emerged as the champions in the Grand Finals – on the back of a dominant showing in two of the six games.

The tournament took place at the Boulevard Riyadh City in Saudi Arabia with a prize pool of $1 million on the line. Eighteen teams from around the world competed in the event from July 10 to 14 to crown the champions. What made the event even more prestigious is that the winner earned a direct slot in the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2024 Finals.
Team Falcons absolutely dominate in two games to clutch the Esports World Cup – Free Fire
Before the Esports World Cup, Esports.net interviewed Falcons’ Free Fire roster. At the time, Thanakorn “PETER” Choompurad said that they were working really hard to get better and assuringly asked fans to see this difference at the EWC. He was right.
In the knockout stage and the points rush, Falcons did well but were nowhere near the coveted first place. In fact, they only received one bonus point going into the Grand Finals, while fierce local rival Buriram had eight points to their name.
The Esports World Cup – Free Fire format was brutal as it gave teams just one day to give it their all in the Grand Finals to get the trophy.

Nonetheless, Team Falcons showed in the first game itself why they are here to win it all. Their performance was a sort of domination never before seen in international Free Fire esports. Besides getting the first-place finish, they picked up an astonishing 28 kills, which is more than half of the entire lobby. From this game alone, they picked up 40 points.
In the next three matches, their placement was mediocre and people thought that the team could get shrouded by the consistent squad of Indonesia’s EVOS Divine.
Falcons, however, denied EVOS Divine with another masterclass in Game 6. This time, they picked up 19 kills along with the BOOYAH to claim the trophy.
