Warzone Mobile ratings plummet after poorly optimized release
Needless to say, the much-anticipated global release of Call of Duty Warzone Mobile is not going quite well. Calling it abysmal wouldn’t be an understatement. With countless optimization issues, particularly plaguing Android users, the ratings for Warzone Mobile have dropped drastically on the Google Play Store.
Currently, the free-to-play game is rated a mere 1.7 for Android users on mobile from more than 100,000 reviews. On the Apple App Store, though, the game fares better at 3.5 stars, despite several overheating issues.

It’s not surprising to see Android users bombard the game with negative reviews. Warzone Mobile has been in development for several years now, and Activision has been testing it for well over a year, telling players that it wants to optimize it properly before a global release. However, after its March 21 release, players quickly found out that the game wasn’t as optimized.
In all fairness, optimizing a game for an Android device is tougher when compared to Apple. This is because the Android software is used on a wide variety of different devices across different companies. Players, however, had plenty to complain about from unexpected crashes, bugs, a weird “unsupported GPU error” message, and more.
While Activision has worked quickly to resolve many of these issues, the question still arises if Warzone Mobile was actually ready for a global release. In a tweet, the official account for the company said that it has addressed many of the main bugs and is continuously working on more.
Activision needs to fix Warzone Mobile quickly, if history is any indication

This isn’t the first time that a major BR title was released to much anticipation, only for it to completely disappoint users with bugs and optimization issues. We can look at Apex Legends Mobile and New State Mobile as examples of that.
And if we further analyze the lives of both these games, it becomes evident that Activision needs to fix Warzone Mobile. Quickly.
Just take Apex Legends Mobile for example. The game was touted to disrupt the mobile gaming space, but after a terrible release, the game had to be shut down just a year later. While the question of completely taking the game offline is a questionable one, it still is an indication that the early release of a game is a crucial phase.
Similarly, New State Mobile had a lot of issues when it was first released, making it unable to pull users from rival titles like PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, and CoD Mobile. While Krafton has managed to fix the game over the months, it still is nowhere near as popular as its chief rivals.
Now, with Warzone Mobile being plagued with issues, there are no reasons for players to leave games like PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, or even CoD Mobile to play the game. But, with Activision having previous developmental experience with CoD Mobile, coupled with the cross-progression features for the game, it remains to be seen where it goes from here.
Some quick optimization fixes, honest communication with the community, and captivating new content while leveraging content creators to promote the title will go a long way for Warzone Mobile. And Activision is making sure to do all of these things right now.
