What’s Coming in Overwatch Season 10?
What’s new in Overwatch Season 10? There’s a decent number of changes that Blizzard has shown off in the new season’s patch notes. We already knew about Venture, the new Hero. However, they’re making major changes to the game’s matchmaking (again), plus introducing other new moves.
Overwatch 2 has reached double digits this season. Heroes might have slowed down, but Blizzard has been making QoL changes to improve the experience in your average game. It’s interesting to see where they’re making developments this far into the title’s life.

Blizzard has released the full patch notes for Overwatch Season 10! What’s come with the new season’s big update? These are the full changes.
What’s New in Overwatch Season 10
Matchmaking Changes
Blizzard are once again messing around with how matchmaking works for the upcoming season of Overwatch. This time they’re looking into mixed-role groups. Essentially, players join up with others when there is a major difference in their OW rank.
Players will receive significantly less impact on their rank change the further the gap is. So, if a Bronze player is grouped with a Masters, they won’t get boosted. They’ll also be mainly queued with similarly mixed groups.
They’re also instituting much harsher bans for leaving games. Leading to massive time-outs if players won’t stop quitting. This should try to make the general experience of playing less annoying for everyone.
New Hero – Venture
The new Overwatch Hero won’t be a major surprise, it’s Venture. They were available for a brief trial fairly recently. They’ll be better integrated into the meta when the new season launches though. We can expect some alterations as we move through Overwatch Season 10 until they’re a perfect fit in-game. Notably, they’ll be a free unlock from the start rather than being locked in a Battle Pass this time.

It’ll especially be interesting to see how they settle in as we’re in the midst of the Overwatch Champion Series the new esports format for OW.
New Battle Pass
That’s the most patch notes we’ve had revealed early, but what else is changing? There’s going to be our normal batch of in-game rewards and refreshes. That’s a new Battle Pass with tons of fresh skins.
Clash
The new game mode for Overwatch Season 10 is Clash. In this, teams try to capture five different points. Each gives you a point towards winning. The team that gets all five at once will win, that or reach five total before the other team does.
It’s only a limited mode. However, it will be active through April 29th.
New Map
A big new feature for Overwatch Season 1 is the new map. This is Hanaoka, a new map set in Japan. It’s always fun to see a brand-new map added, opening up new ways to play for all of the characters not just the newest addition to the game.
Mythic Skins Now Available
One major change to rewards in Overwatch Season 10 is that Mythic skins will be available to everyone, even if you missed out. Although, they won’t be given out too easily. To get Mythic skins, you’ll now need to get 50 Mythic Prisms. Then each customization option is unlocked with another 10 Prisms.

You can get the Prisms through each Overwatch Battle Pass. You won’t need to work towards the current Mythic skin anymore, you can use the credit from the current Battle Pass to collect past Mythic Overwatch skins.
Changes in Overwatch Season 10
That’s a lot of the major additions for Overwatch Season 10. There’s a bit more coming in terms of alterations though. These are the big changes from the most recent patch to existing content.
- Weekly Challenges give more Battle Pass XP.
- OW Coins can be used in Battle Pass
- Fewer Weekly Challenges will be active
- Players on Endorsement Level 0 can’t use text or voice chat.
- Names can be hidden
- Leaver Penalties stepped up
- Hero Changes
There’s a decent number of patch notes for individual heroes we’ve got in Overwatch Season 10. We’ll have to see how these balance out once the game gets going again. Patches like this can massively change up which heroes are meta, which will make the upcoming rounds of the Overwatch Champion Series pretty interesting.
Those are some of the biggest changes we’re getting with Overwatch Season 10. We’re still a short while away from the OW season start date though, so we might learn about more changes as we wait for the fresh content drop.
